Maker Photos
Your buyers want to know you! Choose a photo that really shows who you are as a maker, that shows you in your environment. If you're a farmer, take the photo on your farm. If you're a ceramics artist, it's okay if you're covered in mud! The best profile photo is usually a portrait, with you facing the camera. Photos where you're looking away are not always as effective, but if they capture what you do best, then go for it!
Specs: We recommend a square 1:1 image that is at least 1000 pixels wide and less than 2MB.
Banner Images
We recommend having at least three banner images. Sometimes product shots can work in this spot, but more often that not what works best are shots of your products being made. For farmers, this might be shots of plants or cows in the field. For weavers, a great shot to include might be someone working a loom. Choose beautiful shots that let your buyers connect with you, the Maker, and the product in a way that they couldn't otherwise.
Specs: We recommend an image that is at least 1500 pixels wide and less than 2MB. These images will typically be viewed as panoramas (roughly 12:4). But on some devices they will render closer to 6:4. For this reason, we recommend using either a standard 4x6 horizontal shot that looks great cropped as a panorama or a panorama that looks great center-cropped as a 4x6. Examples as follows:
